Sorry this has taken so long to get out.

Student Body Minutes:

The PH program was disaccredited in 2000. Currently, we are looking to reaccredit the school and the MPH program.

Future goals are to reaccredit the DrPH program. To do that, we are actively searching for a new Biostatisticians, Infectious and Chronic Disease Epidemiologists.

Dr. Miller is up to his ears in producing a 75 pg. outline for the Council on Education for how we are going to reaccredit the School of Public Health. Our participation as students in the reaccreditation process is to organize the student body.

Currently we have 4 committee member positions that you can read about in previous Hui Ola Pono posts.

Faculty have stated that feedback from students is the best way to gear the future of classes. The curiculum committee will say more about this later.

On March 11-12, the EPA will be visiting and evaluating our department. The coucil will make a decision on reaccreditation and, if all goes well, we will be acredited by May of 2002.

Long term goals for the School of Medicine and the Department of Public Health includes a new research facility in Kaka'ako. It will be the new School of Medicine with space for Public Health/Epidemiology research.
