  • What does Hui Ola Pono mean?
"Hui Ola Pono" literally translated from Hawaiian means "good life group".
    • hui: group, club, association
    • ola: life
    • pono: goodness, proper, correct
Translating it a bit more smoothly, we are the Group for People's Health.

This is the name of the student organization at the University of Hawaii School of Public Health prior to the dissolution of the school in 1999. We are trying to expand the epidemiology and gerontology department of the School of Medicine back into a full public health program. As the students in that program we need to be involved in various aspect of our college. It is our hope that this website and our student group can be a tool to involve everyone in the school and in the health of our island (and for some of us our adopted home).
